THE Davao Security and Intelligence Agency (Dasia) and three other teams are making their debut in the Inter-Company Division of the Orange Generation Cup basketball tournament at the Emcor Sports Center.
Dasia of Col. Emil Escandor will face the Anflor Group of Companies in the main game at 4 p.m. following the match-up between the Yuchengco Group of Companies and www.express at 2:30 p.m.
Dasia will be played by Genaro Recalde Jr., Eleazar Balbero, Sergio Presbitero, Renil Bautista, Roy Arcaya, Melchor Jimenez Jr., Rannie Dinanlagan, Josepedi Sarael, Dennis Sakilan, Jessie Montes, Hubert Cesar Jr., Noel Gomez, Teodoro Torion Jr., Julieto Ursabia, Hervin Santoyas and Richard Bautista.
Rey Avila is the head coach, Hilario Estagonde assistant coach and Agustino Casenda is team manager.
Anflocor, on the other hand, is composed of team captain Sherwin Santos, Mansfield Martinez, Socrates Amacio Jr., Philip Mejorada, Evaristo Alegre, Joen Unilongo, Manuel Pahamotang, Rannel Flores, Christopher Go, Russel Barrizo, Ronnel Aposaga and Ariel Ureta.
Higenio Grapa is the coach, while Atty. Alan Roy Lopez is the team manager.
YGC is represented by Adel Gino Paulo Nobleza, Franklin Santa Cruz, Leonil Genoso, Anthony delos Santos, Jose Nino Leones, Policarpo Viola Jr., Michael Ongsai, Ramon Elizan Jr., Erchez Agdon, Jack Nang, Adrian Jun Sevilla, playing coach Adel Nobleza and playing assistant coach Johnard Escudero.
To play for www.express are Gilbert Aquino, Renato Boniel, Patricio Bustamante, Samuel Edusma, Edwin Guibone, Arnel Lluvido, Merwin Ramos, Nelson Abarca, Adener Alicarte, Johnny Dayson, Ferdinand Galutera, Jiffrey Joven, Ianfranco Phala and Romie Toyongan. Coach is Juanito Alba.
Two games in the Junior division and one in the Cadet will be played earlier. Assumption College of Davao collides with Stella Maris Academy in Cadet at 9 a.m. followed also by their junior teams at 10:30 a.m.
Davao Christian High School will clash against Philippine Women’s College at 1 p.m. also in the junior divisions.
The league is organized by the Evangelista Aquatics and Sports Management Inc. (EASMI) and initiated by the Multi-sectoral Organization of Volunteer Entrepreneurs (MOVE) under Davao Chapter head Carlos Vargas and MOVE national sports entrepreneur chairman Darren Evangelista.(pr)
