Camella Communities suffer 1-point loss to DDT
Camella Communities suffered a heart-breaking one-point loss to DDT Konstract, 81-82 in the Safecon Industries Basketball Invitational, Friday, at the Davao Christian High School gym.
Brothers T.Quibo and G.Quibo combined for 53 points but their efforts were not enough to stop DDT as they dropped to their third setback in four games.
The win by DDT cagers gave them the No.1 spot going to the next round that starts on November 22.
Camella Communities defeated David M. Consunji Construction, 73-65 for its lone victory but its key players could no longer find the winning formula in the other games.
The tournament, sanctioned by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas regional director Regino "Boy" Cua, has attracted HR Construction, JNCAS Builders, David M.Consunji Inc. Construction and MGS Construction to the event that runs until December 7.
Tournament coordinator Rael Diaz said that the tournament is one way of promoting camaraderie among members of the construction industry with Safecon Industries officials taking up the initiative this year.

Assumption, JP II College rule Buhangin Fiesta Cup
Assumption College of Davao downed the University of Immaculate Concepcion, 83-74 to win the cadet crown of the recently-concludedBuhangin Fiesta Cup at the Buhangin gym.
Ford Academy of the Arts placed third.
John Paul II College beat Brokenshire College, 83-73 in the college division to share the limelight.
