DCPO draws first blood in 6th AFP-PNP Tournament
The Davao City Police Office booked its first win at the expense of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, 92-68 at the start of the 6th Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Vice Mayor Sara Duterte-AFP/PNP Basketball Tournament, Sunday afternoon, at the Bankerohan gym.
The DCPO cagers employed better defense and on many occasions shifted from man-to-man to double-guarding that forced the Jailmen to commit errors.
Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte formally opened the tournament and called on participants to just enjoy playing the game and keep their cool.
Duterte has also encouraged the law-enforcement personnel continue playing their scheduled games even if they are already out of contention.
"What's important is for you to play and enjoy the games. Taposin 'nyo ang laro," said Duterte.
As of presstime, the City Mayor's Office was playing the 10th Infantry Division and two other games were scheduled featuring the Police Regional Office XI against the 22nd Light Armor Company and the Bureau of Fire Protection against the Task Force Davao.
