Brgy.Watabe cruises to 2nd win in Inday Sara women’s cagefest
Brgy.Aiken Watabe cruised to its second win in the Inday Sara Women’s Basketball Tournament, Sunday, at the Davao City Police Office court.
The Watabe cagers defeated Brgy.5-A, 38-24 after beating Brgy.76-A on Saturday.
Brgy.L.Garcia, on the other hand, trounced Brgy.San Antonio, 47-32 even as the Rizal-Boulevard cagebelles downed Brgy.76-A, 58-24.
Games will resume on December 19, according to tournament director Alberto “Bert” Malinao.
Watabe plays San Antonio at 8 a.m., Brgy.76-A vs. Brgy.5-A at 9 a.m. and Rizal-Boulevard vs. Brgy.L.Garcia at 10 a.m.
On December 20, San Antonio collides with 5-A at 8 a.m., L.Garcia against 76-A at 9 a.m. and Rizal-Boulevard against Watabe at 10 a.m.

CMO takes Game 2, evens series
A rejuvenated CMO squad made sure there would be no awarding ceremonies last Saturday, much less one that would crown their rivals from the PNP Regional Office XI as champions. To make that happen, they played like a champion and finished like a champion.
And so it will now boil down to one final battle in Game 3. No more tomorrows, no more awarding postponements. It’s either you or me for the Mayor’s Men and PRO XI in the deciding game of the Mayor Rody and IndaySara 7th AFP-PNP basketball tournament best-of-three finals.
Game 2 ended with CMO staying alive with a 99-88 win and will take a psychological edge going into the winner-take-all Game 3 on Thursday morning (10:00 a.m.) at the Almendras Gym.
Christopher “Bong” Go managed to wiggle out of the suffocating defense of the PNP men and rain 4 trifectas in a big second quarter uprising that quelled a major rally by PRO XI. He had five triples in the game and a day-high 23 to bail CMO out of trouble early before going to the bench in the last 6 minutes of the final canto to allow the “Triple B” wrecking crew of Roy Bangkas, Dioven Braga and Ariel Bonleon to finish off their Catitipan-based rivals.
The troika combined for 48 points in the game while big man Mondigo added 13 to anchor a balanced CMO offensive.
“Nakaadjust dayon mi karon unlike sa Game 1. They played good defense pero nakapangandam mi karon sa ilaha ug mayo,” said CMO coach Roy Josol.
Go, hounded by his guards in the perimeter where he is a deadshot, had a hard time extricating himself early. With the leech-like guarding, he failed to score in the first period but found his range in the second to keep the PNP men at bay.

Ex-UM varsity Quitain opens CHESC Inter-Color Basketball Tournament
Davao City legal officer Atty.Melchor Quitain (center) formally opens the City Hall Employees Sports Club (CHESC) Inter-Color Basketball Tournament, Saturday, at the AMA Computer College. The games are played every Saturdays, according to club president Atty.Joey Felizarta.

FIVE games will be played at the Immanuel School of Davao in Bajada today, Dec. 12 in the resumption of hostilities in the first Orange Generation Cup basketball tournament.
The first three matches are all in the Cadet Division featuring the Thompson Christian School (1-0) against Assumption College of Davao (1-1) at 9 a.m.; Immanuel (0-1) against Southern Phils. Theological Seminary (0-1) at 10:30 a.m.; and Precious International School of Davao (0-1) versus Davao Jones Academy (0-1) at 1 p.m.
It will be followed by two games in the Junior Division pitting the Ford Academy of the Arts (0-1) against Thompson Christian School (0-1) at 2:30 p.m. and Stella Maris Academy (1-0) versus Brokenshire Science High School (1-1) at 4 p.m.
No games will be played on Sunday since most of the school teams are participating the Disudrin Mabilis, Mabisa Charity Fun Run at the McDonald’s Bajada of Victoria Plaza.
“Proceeds will go to the Lumads in Buhangin,” said Darren Evangelista of the organizing Evangelista Aquatics and Sports Management Inc. (EASMI).
