IBP White ready against City cagers in IBP-RRD cage finals

The IBP White is ready for battle against the City Government of Davao cagers in the finals of the 2008 Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte Basketball Tournament on July 26 at the Hall of Justice covered court in Ecoland.

Gametime is at 4 p.m.

IBP Orange collides with IBP Yellow for third place at 2:30 p.m.

The IBP Whites will be led by lawyers Marvin “Oying” Melodias and Mans Carpio against the Christopher “Bong” Go-led City dribblers.

The Emilio Dayanghirang, a Davao City prosecutor, and Martin Heje-spearheaded IBP Yellow takes on the IBP Orange of Atty.Joey Felizarta.

The championship game will also be highlighted by the launching of the Lawyer’s League in preparation of the IBP-Mindanao Palaro in October.

IBP White, City cagers boot out foes

IBP White and the City Government of Davao cagers booted out their respective rivals in the 2008 Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte Basketball Tournament, Saturday, at the Hall of Justice covered court in Ecoland.

The White team took the lead and never looked back in beating the IBP Orange, 84-79 to secure a spot to the next round while the City Government of Davao marched also the next round via a 96-88 win over IBP Yellow.

City sports coordinator Christopher “Bong” Go found the range again and chalked in 28 points to defeat the team led by prosecutor Emilio “Nonot” Dayanghirang.

The Whites led by lawyer Marvin “Oying” Melodias posted a comfortable lead, 47-34 at the send of the first half and maintained the momentum to secure the victory.

The City dribblers did the same thing by immediately playing strong that kept IBP Yellow trailing.

Go, Gerald Acojedo and Melchor Gadiano teamed up well on the attacks and delivered the goods to outshine the Yellow team.

Panabo shades IBP White, 100-94 in RRD-IBP cagefest

Panabo Hall of Justice improved to two wins against five losses at the expense of IBP White, 100-94 in the main game of the 2008 Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Mayor Rodrigo Duterte Cup Basketball League, Saturday, at the IBP Hall of Justice covered court.

IBP White, a title contender, absorbed its second loss in seven games.

In the other games of the tournament presented by Mayor Duterte, the DCPO Officers Group leveled its count to 3-3 after winning over IBP Orange, 115-111, which dropped to 4-3 while IBP Coca-Cola stunned IBP Yellow, 116-115 for its fourth win against three losses. IBP Yellow suffered only its second setback in six games.

IBP Lavender won on the no-show of COMELEC Region XI for its second victory against five losses while the Election personnel chalked in its fourth loss against two victories.

Games will resume on Saturday, June 14.

Comelec Region XI defeated Panabo Hall of Justice, 97-86 for its second win in four games in the 2008 Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Mayor Rodrigo Duterte Cup Basketball League on Saturday, May 3, at the IBP Hall of Justice covered court.

Comelec leveled its win-loss count by working hard from the first quarter and never slowed down to keep the Panabo Hall of Justice at the bottom of the standings with four setbacks.

In the other games of the tournament presented by Mayor Duterte, IBP Yellow improved to 2-1 after shading IBP Lavender, 111-95; IBP White kept on winning by besting the undermanned DCPO Officers Group, 99-77 and the City Government of Davao shut down ABS-CBN Davao, 94-76.

City sports coordinator Christopher “Bong” Go topscored for the City dribblers with 42 points, hitting seven three-point shots with Gerard Acojedo helping with 16 baskets.

IBP-White sported the same card with the City Government of Davao to share first place with three wins with the DCPO Officers Group as its latest victim.

Yellow guns for 2nd win in IBP-Mayor RRD Cup

IBP Yellow guns for its second victory when it battles IBP Orange in the resumption of the 2008 Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Mayor Rodrigo Duterte Cup Basketball League on Saturday, April 19, at the IBP Hall of Justice covered court.

Game time is at 1:20 p.m.

IBP Yellow trounced IBP Orange, 131-93 on opening day last week that also saw Panabo Hall of Justice drub Comelec, 113-97; IBP White shade IBP Lavender, 104-83 and ABS-CBN Davao edge IBP Coca-Cola, 95-94.

Other games will feature Panabo Hall of Justice against the DCPO Officers Group at 2:45 p.m., Comelec Region XI vs. City Government of Davao at 4 p.m. and IBP Lavender vs. IBP Coca-Cola in the main game at 5:25 p.m.
